Stuff.....Well, since I am not allowed to speak to Greg for the next 11 minutes - I thought I would give you all an update on
Charlie.
He is doing much better this Wednesday than he was last Wednesday - thank DoG ! I seriously thought we were in trouble last week - not a decision I was looking forward to having to make,
especially with Greg being away.
Short of it is that when we left him at the Vet's for a chest xray a few weeks ago now - "something" happened and we were sent home with a dog that could barely walk. More investigation revealed that his hip had actually disclocated :( The thing that totally pissed me off was that they didn't tell us something had happened. He has been having weekly Cartrophen (spelling ?) injections, which seem to have really helped, and has also been put on a drug called Tramal, and also Nupentin - both are human drugs. He is still pretty weak and wobbly in his back end - but I am hoping that we will continue to improve. He goes back to Dr Peter on Friday, and we are hoping to start to wean him off some of the medication he is on - he is on about 15 pills a day at the moment.
He has had to go back on his heart medication as his heart has not "re-modelled" as they were hoping, and he was starting to cough again. Not the best of news, but since he has been back on the Vetmedin & (new) Forketor, his coughing has eased and, whilst he is still alittle "huffy puffy" if he exerts himself, or gets excited - it has certainly improved. Fingers crossed we can continue on this track.
All I want is for him to have some "smooth sailing" for awhile - he has suffered enough, and the last few weeks have really broken my heart. There is nothing worse than seeing your pup look at you with a look that says "fix it", and there is nothing more you can do :(
Thank you all for caring. I will be letting Opy post again shortly to voice her dismay that I went and visited the
Leuradales without her :)
Here is a picture of our babies - we love them with all our hearts.
