Just an observation......
Hey pups,
It seems that once again most of our blogs have been targeted by another site asking us to come and join them.
This seems to crop up every now and again - and quite frankly, we just don't have the energy to worry about it too much anymore. Nearly losing Charlie has put alot of things into perspective - and it has also confirmed that the community we have here at DWB's is such a strong, supportive and loving one.
Once again - DWB's isn't an "exclusive" site - if your blog fits, it will be added. On the other paw, you can all join as many other sites as you please - we won't get cranky or gruff :) It is completely up to the individual - and we do love your loyalty, but if you like another site - join it too, there is no deal that says that you must be exclusive to DWB's.
What I do object to alittle - and find it alittle rude - is that it seems (once again) - people are using our "master list" to leave comments on all of our members blogs. An easy and lazy thing to do. Greg and I have always been very aware of protecting our members privacy - and find it upsetting that you are all getting commented upon (I won't say "spammed"), due to joining something that we have created.
Anyway - I have checked the site out, and it really isn't my "cup of tea" - but all of you should make your own decision on it - and if you want to join up - go ahead, it might be fun.
Just a general shout out - please do your own research and find your own blogs, I know it is very enticing to have over 900 blogs at your fingertips - and the temptation is there to just start from the top and work your way down - but it really isn't the right thing to do.

I have been receiving such comments too but if you choose to think positively, it just mean that we are a cool group of paws and they want us to bring fun to their sites.
We are proud to be part of DWB we are one great group of pups in the most pawsome online community. Apparantly others think so too.
Dun stress yourself unnecessarily. Its nothing worth worrying about.

I got one of those 'spam' comments inviting me to another dog site and I deleted it. 'Dogs With Blogs' is such a great community I have no desire to check out any other. I did join Dogster the same week I joined here but I haven't been back since the day I registered. 'Dogs With Blogs' welcomed me with open arms and I couldn't be happier with all you do to keep the community interesting and to stay connected. Your hard work and caring shows.

They haven't targeted us yet... I guess cuz we are so far down on the list being newer members and all. I do think it is wrong to just look at DWB master list and go from there. They need to find their own blogs. I hate it when people cruise other sites for members.
We love DWB and are glad we have found it.
It didn't cross my mind at all when I read the comment on my blog. Oops, I did take a look at the website although I didn't sign up. That's not a very nice thing of them to do that, taking the shortcut. Don't fret over it, DWB has a strong community!

Since I am still wondering what this is all about(after reading your post and 14 comments,) I guess I haven't been targeted by these "targeters" of whatever kind, so far!
I thank DWB for helping me make so many canine friends! I do believe in being selective about making friends, and if someone is trying to indiscriminately fire posts at all blogs, that human (or site) isn't going to get my attention!

We aren't going ANYWHERE! We joined the DWB because it is a group of such caring dogs and people. We doubt that we could find that elsewhere! We've gotten some of those comments too, but we just ignore them! We hope Charlie and Opy are doing great!

I agree with the other DWB peeps/their pups....DWB is the best! We have been targeted but we just reject the comment and check the site to make sure they didn't add our site without permission.
we have more than enough friends at DWB and we just don't have time to do any more dog networking. there are probably lots and lots of wonderful dogs out there, but we have our DWB friends and that's the bestest friends that we can ever have!

Dear Brooke and Opy and Charlie and Greg - You are our most favorite site and we love you. You invited us when you first started and we've been true and loyal to you ever since. We get targeted sometimes, Mom says, but it makes her grumpy. She usually says no if she's asked, and if she's not asked, she probably doesn't know about it anyway.

When it comes to the blog, DWB is our home and we're not looking for another. We just wish we had time to read everyone's blog and leave comments.
As I had said to you a while ago when we lost Tasha, the support that the DWB family provides is not easily found elsewhere.
We have made some good friends via DWB. In fact, we stopped to see some of our DWB family while we were traveling to bring our new family member home.

Hi Brooke, They hit my blog a couple of times and I posted right on my blog to stop using my comments for marketing or recruiting purposes.
Holy Doodles, what a can of worms I opened. Yikes. But they haven't been back and the DWBers who visit my blog have all been very supportive. My blog is NOT for advertising, even if they claim to be non-commercial.
Anyway, I stuck my paws right in the middle of that one, but plan to keep them firmly planted in DWB land. Thanks for being such fabulous hosts!

You have nothing to fear about any of us DWB family leavingto go elsewhere. You cannot replicate the community we have here - which is why they are trying to steal it.
We had look to see what they were doing, but just ignored it.
Why would anyone want to go elsewhere? This is home.
