Life is far too short....and so unfair sometimes....

I received some very sad news this morning.

Ozzy & Romeo's dad, David, passed away suddenly last Thursday. He was only 29, such a tragedy.

Our deepest thoughts and sympathy go to his wife, Jennifer - and all the family. We are thinking of you all, and you are in our hearts and prayers.

Barkday festivities....the no birthday cake....calanders & card exchanges....

Hey everyone,

Sorry it has taken me awhile to update with my barkday festivities, but mum has been "very busy" - yeah right !! Busy sleeping and taking it easy, me thinks !!!! Anyway....I had a great barkday, I couldn't have wished for better - oh, except a birthday cake would have been nice - oh that's right - I did have a birthday cake - but mum ate it !!!! How rude !!! Talk to the paw mum - I don't want to hear about it !!!!!!

I want to thank all my buddies for all the barkday wishes - I felt very loved and special. I also want to say a huge thank you to my good pals - Asta, Ruby, Pippa, GirlGirl & Verdi for the lovely cards you all sent me - they were beautiful and I will treasure them.

Look at my bone - how huge is that ! SHD cut it in half though - and I shared it with Charlie - see, I am not always Gruff !

I was very sleepy after all that bone chewing - so I had to have a snooze.....

I also got a super cool bandana from GirlGirl - look at me modelling it - don't I look great ? Mum thought I looked better with it like a scarf - silly mummy, that is not cool at all ! Although, we all had a giggle when she put it on Charlie - doesn't he look like a doofus ?? He wasn't very happy about it at all and hoped that Freda wouldn't see any pictures of him looking so un-manly !

As I said above - I DID have a cake - supposedly ! I don't know what really happened with it - but all I do know is that mum ate it and I didn't get ANY !!!! Surely this is a suitable excuse to be very Gruff ?????

Hope that you all got your Holiday Card Exchange lists - mum apologises for all the ammendments - hopefully there won't be any more. We have got all our cards printed out - we just need to address the envelopes and post them off now - a job for me to supervise over the weekend :-) If you didn't receive your list - and you registered to participate - please let me know.

The DWB Calander is coming along nicely - we ended up with 74 pics to co ordinate - and they are all great ! SHD is working away furiously as I type to get it all done, so you can all go and buy one for Christmas :-)

A huge THANKYOU to my buddy Verdi for awarding me the "Community Blogger Award" - I am alittle embarrassed to receive this award, but I really appreciate it. In turn, I pass this award on to each and every member of DogsWithBlogs - without you all we wouldn't have a community. Thank you all for being part of the DWB's Community !!!

Also, happy barkday Verdi - us "mature" pups need to stick together :-) Hope you had a great day buddy !!

Now and then....the countdown begins....the Lists are almost ready !!

Hey everypup and G.G,

I am SO excited ! I can barely sleep !!! I mean, I have only slept for about 15 hours today, instead of my usual 18 - I just can't possibly concentrate on sleepies as it is my barkday TOMORROW !!! Heck, I am getting old - I will be a "mature gruffpuppy" of 11 tomorrow - not a "geriatric", thank you very much Dr Davis !!!!!!!!

I don't know what mum and SHD have planned, they have been pretty busy the past few weeks with the move and all, plus mum was VERY sick last week - but she is feeling better now. It doesn't really matter what we do - as long as we are all together and I get LOT's of inside time and attention (and maybe a treat or two :-), I will be happy. My dear friend Asta, sent me a lovely ecard - and I did see an envelope on the bench that had my name on it and some pretty stamps from Singapore - but I am not allowed to look at that until tomorrow :-( No fair....

Cute wasn't I ? I wonder if I was gruff when I was little ? Mum says I have always been the Gruffpuppy - but I am not so sure !

In other exciting news - everyone who registered for the DWB Holiday Card exchange will recieve their email list's over the weekend. If you don't receive an email from me by your Sunday night (whatever time zone you are in), please let me know at the usual email address. Don't worry, no one will miss out !
Rough totals of participants are as follows -
Region A - 96 (including Region B) - this will also be explained when you receive your email.
Region B - 10
Region C - 36
These totals include both ecard and snail mail participants - just a guide for you all to start with.
We are pretty excited about the card exchange this year - what is not exciting is having SHD and his damn camera in our faces every 5 minutes trying to get the "perfect" shot - does he not realise that EVERY shot of Charlie and I is perfect ??

Mum also wanted me to tell you all that she is sorry that she hasn't been commenting on all of your blogs much lately. She is still reading - but just hasn't had alot of time to leave comments. She started her new job this week, and she has been sick too - not much of an excuse, but things will settle down for her soon - once she gets back into her routine, and she promises to be much more active in the DWB's world soon.

Well, I must try and get some more rest - I need to be in peak form to party on tomorrow :-)

Our new philosophy is "the more the merrier" :-) There will only be 1 calander this year - and we have lots of great pics to include in it - it is going to be packed with lots of happy pups :-)
