Catching up, part 1 - I always get my way....eventually....

So,

mum gets out of bed this morning, ready to face the working day - comes out to feed Charlie and I, and I give her the best gruffness face I can muster !

"What's wrong Opy ?" she exclaimed with a suitable amount of concern in her voice.....

"Well, it's like this you see mum - I could not be any gruffer with you. You and SHD have been flitting about interstate for "work" (yeah, right !) for the past month, we feel terribly neglected, both our blogs have suffered, and it is just not good enough ! I command you stay home, light the fire, update by bloggy, and spend the day with us - if you adhere to my command, I may take my level of gruffness with you down a fraction !!! Maybe !!!!"

Well.......she didn't take too much convincing - I must have looked VERY gruff - 'cause here we are - inside by the fire, and mum is updating my blog which I am dictating to her. Yes, I have the power ! (and she has the sleepy pants and slippers !)

Anyway, I thought I would do some catch-up. I was tagged ages ago by my friend Asta (down under) to reveal who I look like. Well, since my name is really Oprah - I am sure you can guess. See the resemblance ? I wish I had as much money as her though....and my own TV show would be fun too ! My buddy Johann tagged me yesterday - it was also his barkday yesterday, so go and say hello and wish him a belated "Happy Barkday".

4. I have lost all my front bottom teefies, but I can still eat a bone in record time

6. I have only ever barked once, and that was at a hot-air balloon when I was a pup

Weather is STUPID......Our new Cubby.......E.T came to visit us.....DWB's Nominations.......Get behind Fei & Eve.......

Hey everypup, and Girl-Girl,

I am officially declaring our weather as "STUPID" (copyright by Turbo)! Some of you may have heard how bad it has been out here in NSW over the past week - 9 people have died and many have lost their houses, even a HUGE ship washed up on the beach and has been stuck there for a week.

Here is a slideshow (powerpoint presentation) of some of the damage that the storm caused last week - I hope you can all open it.

Today is yucky rain and wind again - our pool flooded over, and there is not a dry place to be found. I mean, we need the rain - as we have been in very bad drought out here for so long, but we could do without the wind, that's for sure ! We spend alot of time inside during the day, but of a night time we sleep outside. Mum and SHD have been worried that we might be cold out in our room - so they made us a cubby - not as good as this Cubby, but it even has a nice rug in it - so we are very pleased. It will keep us dry and out of the wind - plus mum and SHD can't spy on us anymore, so we can get up to mischief :) Although, I did hear SHD talking about putting a camera in there - how's a gal meant to get any privacy !!!!! Now, if I could just work out how to use that BBQ - we would "have it made, in the shade" :)




We also had E.T come and visit us last week - well, that is what the house looked like anyway ! It looked like it was straight out of the movie with all the plastic hanging around. The painter man come in and did some painting - it still stinks a week later - mum loves to complain about the smell !! Any excuse for a whinge :)

ABANDONED AGAIN !!!!!

Well pups - to say I was "alittle gruff" would be an understatement ! We are being abandoned again this weekend !!!! GRRRRR....

Mum and dad are going on one of those aeroplaney things to Melbourne today - but they will be back tomorrow night - so Charlie & I get to stay at home, and Grandma & Grandpa are going to come over and feed us and make sure we are okay.

Mum is freaking out though as the weather is HORRIBLE - really raining hard and gale force winds, and she hates to fly - heehee, that's what they get for leaving us :)

Another package hint - it's not FOR us, it's FROM us - and when I say "us", I mean everypup here at DWB's ;) All should be revealed, hopefully very soon - stoopid postal system !

So - who's up for a party tonight ? Free booze and food - don't know if U2 will be available like they were last year - it's kinda short notice, but I will see what I can do. Bring your lampshade Bussie :) The jet is standing by :)

Hello all my doggie (and Hamster) friends - I did miss you all ever so much :)

Finally, we have some "normality" around here ! It's been a heck of a week - but all seems okay now, I mean, Charlie and I got bones today - so that signals "normality" to us :)

Mum and dad went away last week to their stupid work conference up at the Gold Coast - and boy, did they whine about it when they got back ! I got more piece and quiet staying at Dr Davis' ! Something about how if they hadn't of had Monday to themselves, they would not have left the hotel for the whole weekend - apparantly they were "trapped" from 4pm Friday til 5pm Sunday, and they were none to happy about it, let me tell you !

Charlie and I were very pleased to see mum when she came and picked us up on Tuesday morning. Mum reckons that I must have had an okay time because I didn't ignore her for three days like I usually do when they go away and leave us :) Charlie wasn't completely happy until he saw SHD on Tuesday night - but after that, all was right in our little world again.

One thing that I was pretty peeved about though was that mum and SHD got to meet Hammer, Rose and Hobson - and Hammer's mum too. I was very gruff about that - how dare this event take place without me !!!!! But then mum explained that they live far away and for me to meet them, I would have to take either a plane ride, or a very long car ride. No thank you very much !!! I will admire them from afar for the moment, until Beau comes home - then we are all going to have one heck of a part-ayyyy ! Here are some pics of their day together -

Let's go to the beach - lots of fun :)

This is a pic of a "Goodle" - a Golden Retreiver cross Poodle - there were two of them and they were having heaps of fun playing.


I got all the details on their visit together though - and it sounds like they had a great time together. Mum says that it was the highlight of an otherwise very ordinary trip. There was lots of good smells on their clothes when they came home - we did lots of sniffing :)

The other half-way decent event that happened whilst mum and dad were away was that they got to go to the Australian Outback Spectacular for dinner on Saturday night - they really enjoyed it, and said that it was very worthwhile going to. Two thumbs up from both of them, so there you go !

Hey, can anyone guess what this is ?

Don't think that I am going to tell you because it is a BIG surprise - but it involves each and everyone here at DogsWithBlogs :) There is only four people, who know what the answer is (well, five really 'cause mum blabbed to Hammer's mum!) - but all will be revealed in about a week - hopefully. You will all have to be patient 'til then - but I promise it will be worth it......it is just the bestest thing ever !

I know I have been tagged a few times - and I will get onto it shortley - I just wanted to stop by and say hello to everypup (and GirlGirl) first as I really missed you all when I was away, plus I had to put up with Charlie all by myself for 5 days - and you all know how he snores !!!
