Bone day and more 90210 :-(

Yes pups, we are still ploughing our way through the 90210 catologue here at our house - does anyone want a visitor for a while - I would be no trouble, and I would bring my own blankey ? Thanks to all the suggestions on my previous blog entry as to how to "rectify" the situation - but I don't think I could bear to live with mum if there was no "Bevo" (as she calls it) - she whinges enough as it is, I would hate to see how much more she would whinge without it !

To appease me in my very gruff state - we had "Bone Day" today, now we don't get bones as regularly as we used to on account of the constipation that seemed to rear it's ugly head when we were eating too many bones - so now it is just every second weekend. So, I am munching away happily.....it is quite warm today, but with a bit of a breeze - so not too bad.

Last night after our dinner - we always get a rawhide chewy. Well, mum opened the door to give us our treat and she dropped them on the floor, Charlie picked his up and wandered out to the yard - but me - well, in one swift movement, I had grabbed that rawhide and kept running into the loungeroom where I proceeded to eat it on my inside bed. I couldn't believe that I had gotten away with it - mum and dad were laughing so hard, and so I looked up at them from my bed - with my rawhide in my paws - and gave them a huge grin. It was pretty funny - they just kept laughing. Yes, I am adorable - but I am also smart, and know just what I have to do to wrap the humans around my paw :-)

Beverly Hills 90210hhhhhhhhhh noooooooo !!!!!

Okay, ladies and gentlemen - pups and pupettes - I am about to blow the lid on a scandal even bigger than Bill and Monica. This is big.......and I warn you, may not be pretty by the end......and lets just say, any of you out there who thought my mum and dad were pretty cool......well, you may change your minds after this. I am about to blow any "street cred" that my mum and dad ever had......but first, let's set the scene - shall we ?

It's hot - real hot - there is nothing left to do but for all of us to sit in the loungeroom with the "AySee" (as Texas would say - that's Aussie for 'air conditioning') on.

Well, the day was progressing quite nicely, we were managing to kinda keep cool - but then mum started to whinge, and whinge....oh, and whinge ! Dad knew he had to act quickly, before this turned into a whingefest of monumental proportions......so, he went into the scary back room. Did it call for a 'Seinfeld' marathon ? Nope.....it was bigger than that......with a heavy heart, he bought out "the big guns". Charlie and I were puzzled at the armful of things he bought out into the loungeroom...he explained that they were something called "video tape" ???? I have never heard of such a thing ? Anyway, he put one of these strange things into the machine thingy that never gets used anymore......and so our nightmare began !

Yes folks, my humans have EVERY episode ever made (except 'The Walsh Family Christmas', which mum is still searching for) of Beverly Hills 90210 on video tape !!! And thus, for the next 10 hours yesterday we proceeded to watch them. Oh, and not just watch them - but they had to be paused in certain spots and analysed and discussed ! Questions were asked like "Why did Donna have all that plastic surgery, she used to look real pretty?", and statements were made - "Steve is so selfish". Note - the use of the character names, not the 'real' actors names ! We started with espisode 1, which the humans like to call "Old Bevo" - which looked alittle like this -I fear today, being so hot again, we are going to progress to this -

- or, as they call it - "Mid Bevo".

Thank doG tomorrow is a work day - or we may have had to endure this -

- what they call "Noah Bevo".

What ?????? There's always next weekend ????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Can't we watch "Will and Grace" again ? Just for alittle while ????

So, there you have it folks - my name's Opy, and my human's are "dags" of the highest order !! Now, where is that episode guide they have printed out, I need to know when Brandon and Kelly get together.......

TOO DARNED HOT ...........

Well, it's just on lunch time here - and already we are nudging 40 degrees (104 farenheit).

I am hot, I am bothered, I am very gruff !!!!!

Comeon all my DWB's buddies - can't you PLEASE send me some of that snow stuff you guys are all getting ? I am melting here..... see, look at my pleading face......
I think I am just gonna catch up on some comments - too hot to blog :-(

I knew it - I knew if dad got mum to go have a "look", she would cave ! Now I owe Charlie $5.00 - maybe I can give it to him in kisses, or turds - whatever is his preference :-)

So, by the end of the week we will be the proud owners of one of these -

A 30" Apple cinema screen.

Pretty cool - imagine how good I will look on it :-)

Okay......comeon guys...............I've lost something ! Who stole it ???????

Well, mum and dad - in their infinate wisdom - decided that since Charlie was going to see
Dr Davis due to his busted hotspot butt, that I should go too. Not impressed !!!! It has nearly been three months since my last cancer lump thingy checkup, so it was time to have it checked again.

Now, you all know how much I HATE going in the car, and it is an hours car ride to Dr Davis' - then an hour back - not to mention the actual time spent at the Vet's. SO not impressed ! And it is even worse with Charlie in the car - as he won't sit still. Oh "whoa is me" !

When we got to Dr Davis', I thought I saw Franki - I said "Ha rooooooo", but it wasn't Franki afterall :-( Then when I came out, I thought I saw Pippin - I went and said "hello" and we chatted for awhile, but - whilst this doggie was very nice - it wasn't Pippin :-( Too bad, I thought I was finally going to meet some of my DWB's pals !

Okay, guess what I lost ????? Give up ???? I guess I will just tell you all. I have lost ANOTHER 2.5kg's since September :-))))))) Most of my pals will know that I have been "watching" my weight since I weighed in at a hefty 41kg's (91 pounds) back around August last year. So, since then - I have lost a total of 4.5kg's (9 pounds) - and only have to lose another kg to get down to my target weight of 36kg's (79.4 pounds). Yay for me !!!!!! Let's celebrate with some McDonalds :-)

Other good news is that, whilst my cancer lump thingy has come back - it is growing VERY slowly. We decided to just monitor it since I had it out back in June - and mum checks it every week, and Dr Davis checks it every three months now. It is about the size of marble now - and if it gets bigger - we will get it taken out again. Hey, does that mean I get to sleep inside again ???

All in all - I am in good health. I have lots of lipoma's (fatty lumps - nothing to worry about), and not many teefies on the bottom - but other than that, I am feeling (and looking - yes, I am modest !:-) good for a 10 year old lassie :-)

Charlie and I are just laying around at the moment, listening to mum and dad have one of their "discussions". Is all about dad "wanting" something, as opposed to "needing" something. He is trying to convince mum that he "needs" one of these, or one of these (the 30 inch one) - she's not so sure. Stay tuned to see how this discussion develops ! Charlie has $5.00 that says that mum will cave in - me, well - I am going to wait awhile before I put up my hard earned cash - if dad convinces her to "just go and have a look at one", I think we are done for !!!!! What do you guys reckon ???? Who is going to be the winner here ? Mum, or dad ????

I'M BACK.............................

Well, as you pups know - it has been a pretty rough couple of weeks for us here at DWB's, and especially for my SHM and SHD. I have been a good little gruffpuppy and have looked after mum in her sadness and made sure she had a ready supply of Kleenex when she needed them. By the end of the week, I suggested that we do something constructive with her grief and buy some shares in Kleenex tissues - as she sure has gone through a heap lately ! I think this helped her, because it made her smile again. I had to explain to her that whilst it is really hard to lose good friends, and that it makes us all so very sad - we mustn't forget all our other good friends who like to read my blog, so get up off the lounge and help me - PRONTO ! That got her moving !

Well, after all my gruffness about updating my blog - I don't really have too much to report ! The new year is ticking along quite nicely. It was nice to have both SHM & SHD home for a whole 10 days, we got lots of family time together - and lots of treats too. The weather is cooler at the moment - so that is nice, I really hate the heat. We have even had some much needed rain - although we need heaps more, but at least the grass has got alittle green again and all the animals have some food to eat.

I think we almost are done, but could still be missing a couple - mum said she will leave them up until they are all in, and til she can decide how best to keep them. She is not very "arty" - not like Boomer's mum, who has some awesome instructions on his blog as to how to make an album to store them in. Go check it out !

Here I am yesterday having a bath. Can't you see how impressed I am ? I decided not to talk to mum for a whole 2 hours afterwards - just to show her how gruff I was with her. I then was "furminatored" until I thought that surely I could have no furs left - but there was no need to panic - as I did indeed still have some furs left ! I do love to be "furminatored" - it makes me feel good, and I go alittle fruity in the head :-)
