HAPPY NEW YEAR.....to all my pals Here's hoping that 2007 brings all of us, and our families, lots of good fortune and fun times.
Well, it's New Year's Day over here in Oz - and we are all just lazing around recovering after our "BIG" New Year's Eve. You will all be astounded when I tell you all about how much we all partied into the early morning. Ready ? Here goes.....
Alcohol Consumed - SHD - 1 x beer SHM - 2 x Wild Turkey and coke (small glass)
How we Partied - Me - snoring on my mattress in front of the TV Charlie - snoring on his mattress in front of the TV and his fan. Mum - alternated between snoring on the lounge in front of the TV, playing on her computer, and raiding the fridge. Dad - didn't snore on the lounge, but had a "rest" on the lounge in front of the TV, played on his computer, and raided the fridge.
Time we went to bed - approximately 12.17am, after watching the fireworks and saying "Happy New Year", off we toddled to bed.
That was it ! I think we are all getting old :-)
Oh well, at least we don't have hangover's to deal with today !
My New Year's Resolutions for 2007 - 1. Eat less. 2. Not be so lazy. 3. Not be so "gruff".
Mum's New Years Resolutions for 2007 - 1. Join Weight Watchers (Eat Less) 2. Get fit (Not be so lazy) 3. Not be so grumpy (Not be so "gruff") 4. Get a tattoo.
Now, apart from mum's number 4 - who was it that said that animals are like their owners :-)
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys their New Years Eve, and that it is as "action packed" as our's was :-)
All the very best for 2007 everyone :-)
Love Opy the gruffpuppy who know's how to party :-)
You will be sadly missed by us all here at DWB's. With heavy hearts we are thinking of you - and sending our very best wishes and prayers to all at Beagledom.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL MY DOGGIE FRIENDS :-)
Hope you are all enjoying your days - and that you all got LOTS of pressies and treats. Overhere in Oz it is the dayafter- so, we are all just relaxing and taking it easy. Mum and dadsurvived the "compulsory family outings" - just, so that alone, is cause for celebration. You see, most years it "ends in tears", but this year they got home around 5pm and were still smiling - although, that was probably more smiles of relief at being home, more than anything else :-)
Charlie and I scored BIG time in the pressie department. We got lots of chewy treats and squeaky toys - although I was more interested in the chewy's - as I am not big on the squeaky toys. It was lots of fun opening our pressies - although Charlie was a bit of a "present hog", and seemed to claim them all as his ! It's okay though - it's Christmas, and I forgive him - and I know that mum will ensure that I get my fair share in the chewy department.
Hey, dad bought mum a FUR-minator to use on her legs. Well, it's not called a FUR-minator, but I had a look at the package and it seems to do the same thing - it will take all the excess furs off her legs, so I guess it works the same way. I wonder if mum will love her furs being taken off as much as I do ? She also got some other really nice pressies from Dad - but, as far as I am concerned - the bestest one was the BIG container filled to the brim with all sorts of mixed lollies and sweets. It is SO cools ! It's funny though, as even though Dad made it for mum - it seems that he is sure helping her alot to eat them all up :-)
We have also decided that we aren't going to take our cards or our doggie tree down until we get ALL of our Christmas cards, as we must get a photo of the finished product - and it ain't finished until ALL the cards are in ! We got Gussie's card on Friday - but we still have a few more to go. I reckon all you pup's out there who didn't participate in the DWB Xmas CardExchange this year - and even those pups that did - should start saving your pocket money to make sure you go in for the 2007 card exchange - because it is SO much fun getting cards from all over the world. (And SO much fun watching mum and dad lament at how many cards we got - and how few they got !). I think 2007's exchange will be even bigger than this years - so, we had best all start earning some $$ to pay for the postage and the card making :-)
I also just wanted to give you all an update on the running total on the DWB's Calendar's (thanks to the Daschies for reminding me to do this - I had been thinking of it for awhile). Total's so far are -
Calendars sold - 69 Breakdown - 26 of Calendar 1, and 43 of Calendar 2 (must be because I am in Calender 2 :-) LOL ! Money raised for Doggie Rescue - $222.32 USD, approx $300.00 AUD.
CafePress will release the money this month - so we will make our donation to Doggie Rescue in January. We are really SO pleased with what we have raised so far - and I thank each and everypup, and their humans, from the end of my tail for buying them and helping us raise a substantial amount of money. The calendars are still on sale - and we will probably run them right through to the end of January - so, please - if you would like to buy one - go HERE right now :-) I think mum and dad would love to give Doggie Rescue $500 - so I think they will most probably make up the shortfall (unless we sell that many more calendars :-) . Thanks again everyone - your support with this has been wonderful.
One more very important thing -
HAPPY BARKDAY for tomorrow (it's the 26th here already) my sweet BUSSIE - I hope that you get lots more pressies and treats, and I wish that I could be there to share them with you :-)
Well, it's nap time - so I'll be off now.
Lots of love, Opy the gruffpuppy who has the bestest friends in the whole world !
PS - check out the cool "DWB's EVENT CALENDER" in my sidebar - and you can access the full calendar HERE, and also download the ticker code so you can have it in your sidebar too :-) Thanks heaps to Boo's humans, and SHD for getting this happening. It's great for SHD to have some helpers with the site as it means he has more time to spend with me and Charlie :-)
Okay, so mum was reading Zach's blog a while ago and saw this wonderful product that will take all my furs away - I am sure all you pups have heard of it, but for us, it was all new - it was the Fur-minator. I don't shed too much, but mum thought she would give it a go on me anyway - look at all my furs on the floor ! And, I still have plenty left, so I am not nekkid ! (Yep, mum has her sleepy pants on AGAIN !) I also thought that something this good just had to be edible !
Mum can't wait to try it on Charlie - he sheds 24/7 all year, so hopefully it will help him as well - as I think he gets pretty itchy with all that fur. Mum says that she will need to set aside a few hours to do Charlie though - as he has LOTS of furs !
So, Opy recommends the Fur-minator, it's not cheap out here in Oz, but not much is - so we are used to paying high prices for everything - but we all think it is worth it. Mum is going to write a review for it over in the BoneZone later today - so check it out.
More cards came in last week, we got -
Ben Benjamin Chester & Shannon Jessie & Jake Dean-o ! Roo - my bikini wearing co-hort
I guess there are still a few to come in - but that's okay, as we will have something to look foward to in the New Year.
Mum and dad are on holidays til January 2nd - and they have promised to spend lots of quality time with us - so we can't wait for that.
To everypup, and everypup's family - have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Our lives are all the better for having got to know so many wonderful friends here at DogsWithBlogs :-)
Take care, and stay safe over the holidays.
Lots of love Opy the gruffpuppy who loves being Fur-minatored :-)
Love Opy the gruffpuppy that loves ALL her boyfriends !
PS - Hershey, we usually BBQ steak and sausages - but sometimes chicken and seafood too When our friends came to stay with us from the U.S, they thought our sausages were strange, because they aren't like a hotdog sausage, but they sure taste good :-)
My two guys - who I love with all my little gruffpuppy heart. Happy Birthday Charlie and Dad - I am very thankful to have you both in my life - yes, even you Charlie !
Me, checking out dad's new fisheye lens - cool huh ! And , as you can see - with dad's new lens, we can fit ALL our - and by "our", I mean Charlie's and mine, not mum and dad's - cards in the one picture. I also caught dad trying to "beef" up his and mum's pathetic card collection by sneaking his birthday cards in amongst their two Christmas cards !
I've been tagged by some of my buddies - so here we go....
Here are the rules:
The player of this game starts with "3 things he/ she would love to get for Christmas" and also has to list "3 things he/ she definitely does not want to get for Christmas". Then he/she tags 5 friends and list their names. The ones who get tagged need to write on their blogs about their Christmas wishes, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. And the one who tags need to leave his/her victim a comment that says "you've been Christmas tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.
THREE THINGS I WOULD LOVE FOR CHRISTMAS -
1. To sleep inside all the time, and become an "inside"dog 2. To have an unlimited supply of chewy's and bones - and not get any fatter ! 3. For Beau to come home
THREE THINGS I DEFINATELY DON"T WANT FOR CHRISTMAS -
1. A bath, or anything to do with water. 2. For mum and dad to get "gruff" because of their families. 3. To have to go on the stupid bean diet again.
CARDS, BARKDAYS, STUPID BLOGGER, STUPID WEATHER, VERY GRUFF OPY !
We received some more cards yesterday, I love getting cards, it is such fun - especially when I see the look of dismay on mum's face when she checks the letterbox, and there is no cards at all for her and dad - only bills ! Oh, and MJ - I think you need to leave your landlord some pee mail on behalf of your mum - how rude to pull a stunt like that !
Okay - we got cards from -
Stewy & Nugget Miss Sunshade (and thank-you SO much for the gift, mum and dad are "discussing" who get's to put it in their car) Beau and his mum T.Man - so jealous of your stamp, buddy ! Baily Pacco Daschies
I thought we might have got some more today - but none came, maybe mum is hiding them and claiming them as her own ? Hmphh !
My thought for the day is that weather is STUPID ! For example, yesterday was another 110 degree day - that's way to hot for a lardo like me, who has to carry around so much extra padding. So, I was VERY gruff yesterday - I was in a bad mood all day, and not even food could entice me out of it. BUT, then today - it was about 62 degrees, much cooler, and this I was much happier. We even got some rain today - which is great, as it is now official that 96% of Australia is now officially in drought. I hope it rains for weeks, I like the rain - and if it rains on Christmas day maybe mum won't get so cranky at having to spend so much time with the family. I have no idea why that will make a difference - but it seems to.
Blogger is also STUPID ! I had to change over to the Beta version - and I am none to happy about it. I am sure it is good and all, but I don't like being forced to do anything. Oh, and I can't post photo's tonight either, so that makes me gruff !
Well, I have a big cake baking day tomorrow. I am going to help mum make Charlie's barkday cake. I figure if I help - I may get to help him eat it - well, it would be only fair, as he helped me eat mine. I can't wait til tomorrow and Sunday too - both of my guy's barkdays, what more can a gal wish for ?
Oh, the "Awesome Blog Award", and "Photo of the Month" for December polls are now open - head on over to the Bone Zone, and cast your vote :-)
Okay, just to make mum and dad REALLY jealous - I decided to make a list of all the Christmas cards that we have received from all our doggie friends around the world. Oh, and how many have mum and dad received ? That would be a grand total of 2 cards - yep, that's 2 just in case you missed it the first time - and they are from family, so don't really count.
I could pretend that I am posting this just to thank all our DWB friends, and to let everyone know who's cards we have received - but, really - I just want to rub it in to mum and dad, that we are FAR more popular than they are :-)
Oh, and I have been trying to leave some comments on other doggies blogs tonight - but it seems that Blogger is being "difficult", and won't allow me to - so I will try again tomorrow.
Lastly, it would seem that "Justin" has resurfaced again and is leaving his spam on our blogs - just delete, delete and delete !!!!!
Oops, got alittle sidetracked there - on to the list -
C-K-C Fleas Gang Salchicha & Lilly Freda Miss Sophia Holly Jay Fu-Fu Boo Boo & Bond JaffeBoy & KaylieGirl Herbie Kingsley Tin Tin Aramis & Carbi Boo Butchy & Snickers Buster Bogart Cubby & Dakota Isabella Copper & Hershey Mackie (my man) and Ollie Boy n Baby Maggie Rose Angel Daisie and Lillie Huskee Boy Scuba Joey & Jack Simba Shannon M.J Chelsea Toby Dory Murphey Flossy Joey & Tanner Boomer Comet & BLU Fei
Phew, time for sleepies now :-) I need to rest up for when the next lot of cards come in - as I know they will all be for Charlie & me, none for mum and dad. Heeeee Heeeeee
Oh, and I am gonna help mum make Charlie his cake on Saturday - we have settled on a Banana Carob Chip Cake with Cinnamon Frosting. I am drooling just thinking about it :-)
Love Opy the gruffpuppy who has HEAPS more friends than her mum and dad :-)
Hi all my paw-pals, hope you are all well - and getting into the spirit of the festive season.
Things have been pretty quiet here of late - I think it is because Charlie and I have been trying really hard to keep out of mischief so that Santa will think we are good pups and leave us lots of treats and pressies. It is still way to hot - and I am totally envious of all you pups celebating with snow :-(
The cards have been coming in thick and fast. It is SO exciting - we love each and every one of them - thanks to all our wonderful friends who participated in the Christmas card exchange, and thanks again to Miss Sunshade's mum and Bussie's mum for organising it. Here is a pic of me having a "look" at one of our cards.
Mum says that dad has to put up another row of string as the first row is all full - but doesn't it look impressive ?
We also have our very own Christmas tree this year - with presents under it and all ! Something was missing from it though - it just didn't look complete - we finally worked out it needed an angel on the top. Dad come up with the idea of "Angel Daisie" - and Pappy's dad did the rest. Thanks so much - our tree now looks complete, and we have "Angel Daisie" watching over us and our pressies to make sure no-one steals them when we are sleepies.
It's both Charlie's and Dad's barkdays next weekend - Charlie's is on the 16th, and dad's is on the 17th. Mum bought dad a really cool new lens for his super-duper camera, she has just left it on the table with instructions for him "not to touch it......or else !!!!" Paws up who thinks that dad will find out what the "or else" means by the end of the week :-) I think we will be have TWO cakes to celebrate - so I am pretty excited about that. For those who I know will ask - Charlie is 11, going on 2 - and dad is 35, also going on 2 :-) They are a good match.
Well, mum promised to share her vegemite toast with me - so I best remind her before she eats it all :-)
Calenders are still available - click here to order - thanks again to all those who have already bought - much appreciated.
DWB's polls will be open next weekend - so get your nominations in to the BoneZone :-)
Love Opy the gruffpuppy who loves vegemite toast !
Oh how I envy all you pups on the other side of the world gettin' snow and cold :-( It is SO hot out here at the moment - about 42 degrees yesterday, which is around 107.6 in the farenheit scale. I SO don't like this heat ! It makes me VERY gruff ! I even let mum wet me with the hose yesterday, and when I layed inside I had a cool towel over me - now, you all know how I feel about water - so that is just how hot it was !
The cards are rolling in - it is very exciting to get them. So far we have - Carbi & Aramis, Herbie, Cubby & Dakota, Boo, BLU & Comet, Simba, MJ, Butchy & Snickers, Tin Tin, Isabella, & Liza & Dory. It is so much fun when we get them - although stupid Charlie likes to rip up the envelopes, and I would like to have a further look at the pretty stamps from all the different places. Stupid Charlie !!!!
Anyway, since Charlie ALWAYS gets all the video action - I finally got SHD to help me post one of mine from the archives. This is me, being very inquisitive when i was a younger (slender) pup - hope you like it -
Love Opy the gruffpuppy who thinks heat is STUPID !
I think I am cute - Charlie think's I am fat - I prefer "big boned".
I love my mum and dad, and have them wrapped around my little paw.
I love Charlie too - but, shhh, don't tell him !
