Opy - the Original GruffPuppy: May 2006

Top of the evening to you all ! I can just tell you right now - I am one happy "gruffpuppy" - have been living it large in the loungeroom in front of the fire most of the weekend - when I wasn't relaxing by the fire - I was eating my bones and stealing Charlie's. Truly, could my life BE any better than this. I actually posed for this photo to show my happiness - as most wouldn't believe it, as I have been known to be a perpetual grumpy bum :-)

I got lots of pats, and lots of love all weekend - and about time too, I might add ! Now that I have wormed my way into the loungeroom, I am going to start working on my next mission - the big bed that mum and dad sleep in ! Why do they need all that room ? I am sure there is enough room on there for me as well - might have to give them some earplugs though, as Charlie tells me I snore REALLY badly - don't know if I believe him though !

Yipee !!!! I won an award as well ! It just mysteriously turned up in the letterbox the other day ! Can you believe it ? I have been voted the "Best Dog in the WORLD", by the prestigious Academy of Dogs.

What's that Charlie ? NO, I did NOT make it myself - I borrowed your crayons and a piece of paper for a completely unrelated project ! How dare you accuse me of such a thing ! I am deeply offended - you make me sick !

I thoroughly deserve this award - I AM the best dog in the world, and just because I like to eat poo doesn't make any difference.

Congratulations to Bogart as well, you really are a Handsome Devil, and your blog is great :-)

Well, I must go and make myself look pretty because I am sure that Oprah will be calling soon to book me for an appearence on her show - I wonder how many million's I can make out of my award ?? I see lots of bones in my future :-)

Well, I have officially had it with these humans - and I have put my "gruff chops" on in protest ! How many times do I have to say "no photo's please" before they will get the hint ? Don't they have anything better to take pictures of than me and Charlie ? I am going to have a word to Charlie and come up with a strategy of how we can avoid getting our pictures taken - although, I think if the truth be known, Charlie LOVES getting his photo taken, he sure does pose for it !
Anyways, getting some quality time inside at the moment - and I am lovin' every minute of it - one gripe I have though, is when Charlie decides he wants to go outside to bed, well, I have to go as well - regardless of how comfy I am. Not fair, I say - seems the whole world revolves around Charlie - and his "needs" - hmphhhhh, I say - may have to declare shenanigans again. Still no lit fire though - maybe on the weekend, hanging out for that :-)
Not much else happening - we have the good canned food this week, so that makes me VERY happy - hate it when mum buys the "cheapo" stuff - blerk !!!
Well, back to snoozing and snoreing !

Well, not much has happened this week - the humans have been very busy, so not much inside time to be had, much to my annoyance !!!

Today I had a yummy bone, and managed to pinch Charlie's as well, so I actually ended up with two. They should keep me going well into the early hours of tomorrow morning :-)

Hoping for some quality inside time tonight - wish the humans would light the fire soon. I LOVE sleeping by the fire - it's the best !

Well, I declared "shenanigans" and stomped my paw SO hard and demanded that I had my own blog - and why shouldn't I ? Afterall, I AM the original "gruffpuppy" that my mum and dad's website is named after, and - regardless of what Charlie says - I have just as much to say as he does, and I am just as important !! So there......

Okay, I will hop "off my kennel" now.....

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Opy, Charlie's (aka "the Big Dog") sister - and best friend, but shhh don't tell him that :-) I am 9 and a bit and live in Sydney, Australia. I am a labrador cross with a little bit of border collie and a little bit of blue cattle dog - mum and dad say that's where I get my mischievious streak from. Afterall, I did orchastrate single-handedly the famous backyard breakout of '98 !

I love to eat and sleep, can never do too much of either in my opinion ! I could stand to lose a few kilo's - hey, couldn't we all !!!! Charlie likes to call me "wide load" and "lardo" - and he steals my bed and moves it as far away as possible from him, as he reckons my snoring keeps him awake of a night - I don't know what he is talking about, it doesn't bother me !

I HATE baths, and anything to do with water, and I am not too fussed on having my photo taken either. I reckon my life would be complete if I could have a self-dispensing ruskie dispenser next to my bed, so I could help myself and not have to move, EVER ! Ahhhhh, I can dream.

Well, I have bones to chew and naps to take - so until next time.
